(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. The Irish international, G. Best, scored three times to help Manchester United beat Southampton, 5-2, on Saturday, and keep his club three points in front at the top of the English first division soccer table.

i Manchester City moved (into second place, by beating 'Coventry City, 4-0, moving ahead of Derby County, (which went back, 1-2, to I Huddersfield Town. Sheffield : United came back into the title race with a 7-0 victory over Ipswich Town, A. Woodward scoring four goals. Leeds United also kept well in the running for the title it narrowly missed last season with a 2-0 away win over Nottingham Forest.
