i Manchester City moved (into second place, by beating 'Coventry City, 4-0, moving ahead of Derby County, (which went back, 1-2, to I Huddersfield Town. Sheffield : United came back into the title race with a 7-0 victory over Ipswich Town, A. Woodward scoring four goals. Leeds United also kept well in the running for the title it narrowly missed last season with a 2-0 away win over Nottingham Forest. Aberdeen was displaced off the top of the Scottish first division after losing 2-3, at home to the third-placed Hearts, and the reigning champion, Celtic, took over
