Commissioner gains award

WELLINGTON, Nov. 28.

New Zealand’s girl guide chief commissioner (Mrs W. G. Turnbull) has been awarded the “Silver Fish” — the highest award the guide movement can make—for her service to the New Zealand Girl Guide Association.

She will be presented with the award by Lady Porritt at the association’s annual meeting in Christchurch on Tuesday. Mrs Turnbull joined the association as an adult leader in 1941, and was appointed chief commissioner in 1965.
