WELLINGTON AIRPORT

Council Help In Survey

(N:Z. Press Association>

WELLINGTON, May 18

The development of the twin-airport complex of Rongotai and Paraparaumu is still favoured by the Wellington City Council, but the council is prepared to cooperate with the Government in the investigation of a possible extension of Rongotai. This is stated in a letter from the council to the Minister of Transport (Mr Gordon), which was released today by the chairman of the council’s airport committee (Cr S. H. J. Duff). Cr Duff said that this step had been taken so that all interested parties would understand the council’s position.
