SAMOA CRASH

Scholarships In Memory (N.Z. Press Association) APIA, February 4. Mr J. Espie, managing director of the Fletcher Construction Company, Ltd. said this week that his company would offer two scholarship apprenticeships for Samoan boys in memory of two young tradesmen killed in the recent air crash. Those killed were Mose Tafale and Samoa Saia, who had just completed their apprenticeships with the company and were in Western Samoa on holiday when they lost their lives. The apprenticeships will be worth about $4OO each with air fares paid to New Zealand and subsidised accommodation in the first year.
