Cabinet-Caucus committee to hear submissions on the ques-l tion of State aid to indepen-( dent schools was anounced to-j day by the Minister of Edu-’ cation (Mr Taiboys). The committee will be! chaired by the Minister, with! I his Under-Secretary (Mr G. F. Gair). as deputy chairman. Other members will be: Mrs E. I. Tombleson (Gisborne),; the Minister of Finance (Mr' Muldoon), the Minister of Customs (Mr Adams-Schnei-j der), the Minister of Justice! (Mr Riddiford), and Messrs! J. G. Chewings (Invercargill), L. W. Gandar (Manawatu),! and T. F. Gill (Waitemata). The committee will study written representations to be made later this month by interested parties, and will then hear submissions in hearings set down for February 24 and | 25.
