Press Association) TAURANGA, Feb. 5. • A woman whose name was suppressed has been charged with manslaughter as a result of the death of a Tauranga police officer after an incident at an Otumoetai home yesterday afternoon. The dead man was Sergeant Gilbert Peter Arcus, aged 44. of Park Street. Detective Sergeant T. W. : Irving said today that at 4.30 p.m. yesterday Sergeant Arcus was one of a police parly which went to an Otumoetai house to assist a [doctor and St John Ambui lance staff with a sick woman. • While Sergeant Arcus was trying to enter the house • with the sick woman’s hus(band he fell and suffered head injuries.
