Two Tennis Teams Selected

Canterbury Wilding Shield and Nunneley Casket tennis teams to play in zone three matches at Wilding Park on February 14 and 15, against Nelson and Marlborough, respectively, were named last evening by the selectors (Mrs P. Leopold, Messrs J. Anderson and J. Dickie).

Wilding Shield.—J. W. Mitchell (Beckenham), C. G. Judge (Linwood Avenue), J. Martin (North Linwood), W. Thom (Elmwood). Nunneley Casket—Misses J. Habgood (Edgeware), R. Dillon (Edgeware), G. Hampton (Shirley), D. McKinnel (Avonside). In the Wilding Shield, South Canterbury has already beaten Marlborough and will play Otago in the second round for the right to meet the Canterbury-Nelson win-

ner in the zone final, the winner of that to challenge the holder, Auckland. In the Nunneley Casket, Otago and Nelson will meet at the same time as Canterbury and Marlborough, the winners to play the zone final for the right to challenge Auckland.

Mitchell and Martin were members of last season’s shield team, and Misses Habgood, Dillon and Hampton were in the Casket side. Judge and Mrs McKinnel have only returned to senior tennis this season, and Thom helped to regain a place in the shield team bv beating P. Angland, who was ‘a member last season, in a ranking match last evening. 1 The selectors announced other teams as fallows:— v. Otago, at Dunedin, on February 21 and 22.—Mitchell. Judge..
