Rose Loses To Sotelo

(N.Z. Press Association) SYDNEY. The Mexican, Fernando Sotelo, knocked out Australia’s former world bantamweight champion, Lionel Rose, in the seventh round of their scheduled 10-round contest at White City Tennis Stadium in Sydney on Sunday. Rose had been knocked to one knee in the sixth round and was down again early in the seventh after a barrage of punches from Sotelo. Rose got to his feet at the count of five and took the pompulsory eight count, but collapsed again as the Mexican swarmed all over him, throwing left and right combinations. Sotelo was ahead on points before the knock-out.
