Inquiry Into By-election

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 23. A magisterial inquiry will be held into the conduct of a by-election for the Tuakau Borough Council on October 4. A petition, set down to be heard in the Magistrate's Court at Pukekohe on October 30, has been filed under the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1966. This act provides that any 10 electors, or any candidate and five electors, who are dissatisfied with the result of an election may demand an inquiry into the conduct of the j election or any candidate or other person involved.
