Submissions On Port

The New Zealand Ports Authority has fixed September 10 for a hearing of the Lyttelton Harbour Board’s submissions in support of its claim to be a container port. Mr F. I. Sutton, the chairman of the board, will formally present the submissions, which have been with the authority for some time. The authority will also be given supporting evidence from a number of Canterbury associations and South Island organisations. Later the authority will visit the port. The board held a special meeting yesterday to confirm the submissions.
