Favourite Tune The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) on Thursday night brightened his speech at the opening of the 1969 Whakatane winter show with a baritone rendering of “My Diane.” He said to the audience: “I hope you don’t mind, but this is my favourite number.”—(PA.) Tax Incentive New Zealand firms supplying the Americans with goods for use in the Antarctic would in many cases be eligible for tax incentives and for replacement import licences, the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association was informed yesterday. Cobalt Unit The cobalt therapy unit at Christchurch Hospital would not be replaced by the linear accelerator as reported in “The Press” yesterday, I said Dr A. J. Campbell, director of the radiotherapy department “The cobalt unit a most reliable and sturdy machine, will still be used probably as much if not more than at present” he said in a joint statement with Mr J. J. Tait the senior physicist “The addition of the linear accelerator to our department is an attempt to cope with the increase in work and to help in the development of new and complicated techniques.”
