(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The five-minute barrier for 440 yards freestyle was broken by the Auckland junior swimmer, Miss B. Williams, last night. She clocked 4min 56.75ec, cutting 7.7 sec off the time held by Miss C. Whiting, of Canterbury, for the junior short course record. Miss Williams now holds junior records in four events —freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke and medley.
