Murder Attempt Alleged

PALMERSTON N„ May 12.
Two men were charged with the attempted murder of a police constable at Eketahuna when they appeared before Mr J. R. P. Horn, S.M., in the Palmerston North Magistrate’s Court today. The inch dent was alleged td have occurred when the Eketahuna premises of Wright Stephenson and Company, Ltd, were broken into. The two men, Kahu Henare Power, aged 19, a shearer, and Roderick James Murphy, also aged 19, a truck driver, were remanded in custody until June 9 for the hearing of evidence. No pleas were taken.
