Tappenden Profit Up

The unaudited profit of Tappenden Industries, Ltd, the Auckland Vauxhall and Bedford distributor, for the the year to. March 31 will be in excess of, $250,000, the directors announced.

Last year the net profit was $201,047. The dividend has been maintained at 12.5 per cent with a final 7 per cent. To commemorate the 40th year of trading the directors have added a 1.5 per cent tax-free bonus dividend from capital reserves, bringing the payout to 14 per cent. Flathead Promising Hydrocarbons had been encountered in the off-shore well Flathead No. 1, EssoB.H.P. announced. The partnership said considerable further evaluation was necessary before their significance would be known.
