Miss Vercoe Eliminated
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copi/ripht) BOURNEMOUTH.
The New Zealand women’s tennis champion. Miss B. Vercoe, was eliminated in her first match of the British hard-court championship. She was beaten, 6-4, 6-2, by Miss C Molesmorth (England). The delay to the finish of the Italian tennis championship in Rome disrupted the opening day’s play at Bournemouth and none of the seeded players were in action.
