KASHMIR DISPUTE
10-year Plan Suggested (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) MADRAS, Dec. 25. An Indian elder statesman, Mr Chakravarty Rajagopalachari, has proposed that Pakistan and India should ask the United States, Britain and the Soviet Union to administer the disputed state of Kashmir for 10 years. ' At the end of that time, a I three-power board of control I should ascertain the wishes of I Kashmiris for their own i future and withdraw in favour'of whatever regime they 'decided on, Mr Rajagopalachari suggests in the South Indian political weekly, "Swarajya.” Mr Rajagopalachari, who is 90 and the leader of the Rightwing Swatantra Party, says the Kashmir problem has gone unresolved for too long. “Fear and prejudice, and the worst of all hurdles, pride, must be put aside and coexistence between Pakistan and India must be established.” he adds.
