Galilee Out Of Plate
(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) MELBOURNE. The surprise withdrawal of Galilee from the $lO,OOO C. B. Fisher Plate has taken some of the shine off the last day of the V.R.C. carnival at Flemington today, but racegoers will still have a chance to see the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup first and second placegetters in action. Rain Lover and Fileur, first and second in the Melbourne Cup, will meet Future in the w. F. A. Fisher Plate. The Caulfield Cup winner, Bunratty Castle, will attempt to add the $21,000 George Adams Handicap to his fine record, and Fans, third in the Melbourne Cup. will attempt thp V.R.C. Handicap. Fane haa top-weight of 8-10 and Is favourite in the V.B.C. Handicap. Rain has fatten at Flemington in the last couple of days, and with more forecast, the track could soften enough to ruin his chances. Fans likes a hard track and- he failed badly in the Caulfield Cup when he could not handle the shifting going.
