A South African accused of pouring cyanide into a barmaid’s drink at a London tavern was found guilty of manslaughter at the Old Bailey Criminal Court. Clifton Viyisle Stofile, had pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder. After a two-hour 40-minute retirement, the jury, by an 11-toone majority, found him guilty of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. Sentence was postponed.
