Restraints To Last Longer (N Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) LONDON, Nov. 7. The British Government proposes to lengthen the period during which it wants suppliers of the United Kingdom Cheddar cheese market to limit the quantities ' they send.
The Minister of Agriculture (Mr Hughes) said in a written reply to a Parliamentary question that he intended to lengthen the period to March 31. 1970.
He said that origin.-' discussions on the Government’s “voluntary” restraint scheme had been conducted on a proposed period of restraint to March 31, next year. Mr Hughes gave no indication as to the level of restraint the British would expect suppliers to observe in the 1969-70 years.
