NO HOLIDAY JOBS
Students May Not Return
(N.Z Press Association* AUCKLAND, Nov. 7
Lack of vacation work this year could mean that more than 1000 students at Auckland University would find it impossible to finance their return to university next year, the president of the Students’ Association (Mr W. B. Rudman) said today. In a report which will be presented to the association executive tonight, Mr Rudman said that 800 had registered with the Student Association’s employment bureau, but many more had not bothered to because of the bureau’s inability to find jobs.
Mr Rudman said he would press for a New Zealand University Students’ Association delegation to discuss student unemployment and tertiary education planning with the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake).
