Kokako Released
A pair of rare Kokako, or North Island Blue Wattle Crow, were liberated in th* Mount Bruce native bird reserve near Eketahuna yesterday. A conservation officer from Hamilton, Mr D. V. Merton, handed over the Kokako to the curator of the reserve (Mr C. Roderick). The birds were liberated in a large aviary. It is hoped that the birds will eventually breed.— (P.A.)
