TELEGRAM TO MINISTER

Road Safety Member (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND Nov. 7. The Auckland Education Board has sent a telegram to the Minister of Transport (Mr Gordon) urging that he reconsider the' position of Mr A. K. Greves on the New Zealand Road Safety Council.

Mr Greves was the School Committees’ Federation representative on the council. The Transport Department recently reduced the membership from 22 to 13, reducing the four education members to one, the New Zealand Educational. Institute member. The board said Mr Greves “has demonstrated for many years his sincere interest in the safety of children, for which he has earned the gratitude of school committees and parents.”

Delay at Port.—Because of congestion at New Plymouth, the Shaw Savill cargo liner Corinthic has been delayed at Lyttelton. She is expected to leave for New Plymouth on Monday.
