DOUBLE “CAP”
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Two Canterbury players, the inside forward, V. Pollard, and the full-back, G Davis, have gained their first selections for New Zealand in the national soccer team, announced last night, to meet Fiji in the test match at Auckland tonight. This makes Pollard, the New Zealand cricket representative, a double international. Another Canterbury player. T. Haydon, has been included in the team. D. Phillips (Canterbury) has been named as a reserve The other new “cap" is J Staines, the Auckland half back. The teams are:—
