I.C.I. PRIZE AWARDED

The New Zealand Institute of Chemistry has awarded the 1.C.1. (N.Z.) prize for 1967 to Dr H. P. Rothbaum. of the chemistry division of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. The prize was awarded for a series of papers, the most significant group of which dealt with the possible use of red phosphorus as a fertiliser. Dr Rothbaum, who has been with the Chemistry Division since 1947, was born in Austria. He was educated in England and came to New Zealand in 1941. He graduated B.A. and M.Sc. from the University of New Zealand and gained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Liverpool.
