Australia In Drawn Game

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) TORQUAY.

Australia and the Minor Counties drew their two-day match at Torquay yesterday. Set to make 188 runs in 140 minutes to win, Australia was 101 for five at stumps. Australia lost four wickets for 38 in a splendid spell of fast bowling by N. McVicker, who took the wickets of R. M. Cowper (6), K. D.'Walters (10), and I. M. Chappell (4), and finished with three for 30 off six overs. The captain, W. M. Lawry. and R. J. Inverarity were slow hand-clapped as they defended dourly over the last hour.
