Man Fatally Injured

(From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT, May 13.

A Westport man was fatally injured yesterday morning when he was caught by the jib of a falling crane on a cement silo construction site. He was

Curtis Hart Thomas, aged 46, single.

He was employed by Tileman Overseas, Ltd, which is erecting two 80ft bulk silos near the merchandise wharf for the Guardian Cement Company. The crane overbalanced during cement pouring at 7.30 a.m.

Mr Thomas died two hours later in the Buller Hospital. A workmate, Dudley C. Fox, leapt clear of the falling crane.
