Snapper Sent To Japan

Fifteen tons (1282 cartons) of whole red snapper was loaded aboard the refrigerated Japanese motor vessel Japan Rimu at Lyttelton yesterday. The catch was made off the New Zealand coast by the Taimoana I, which is run by Taimoana Fisheries, Ltd, of Christchurch, and has a joint New Zealand-Japanese crew. This is the first shipment to Japan from the Taimoana I, although samples have been air freighted to Japan.
