Man Struck By Train, Thrown Under Engine

(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, May 2. A Green Island man died this morning after being hit by two trains at Burnside. He was

Leslie Raymond Neil, aged 21, single, of 120 Main South Road, Green Island.

He was struck by the engine of the Mosgiel train, which threw him into the path of a shunting locomotive. The train was delayed five minutes by the accident Many people use this section of the railway line as a convenient access to the Burnside station or to the Main South Road.

He died In the ambulance on the way to the Dunedin Public Hospital. Mr Neil was walking to work along the railway lines, between the Green Island and Burnside railway stations, I when the accident happened.
