FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE PRECAUTIONS.— To comply with the strict requirements of the Department of Agriculture, the Lyttelton Harbour Board has made arrangements to have all cars landed from overseas ships steam-cleaned at the port. This was first done in a temporary compound near Cashin Quay, but permanent facilities have now been established behind the Lyttelton Service Station. According to the proprietor (Mr S. C. Dailey) these facilities enable consignees to receive their cars with the minimum of delay.
