Town Hall Progress
Progress on working drawings of the town hall showed that tenders could be invited by the JulyAugust date originally anticipated, the City Treasurer (Mr L. A. G. Rich) reported to the City Council last evening. It was desirable that loan authority should be obtained before work began, he said, recommending the initiation of proceedings for a loan of sl.Bm for a term of 35 years.
The council agreed to give public notice of its intention to raise the loan, and said it would be raised in stages when required and when it would not conflict with the raising, of other loans.
