Rifle Charges Remand

(N.Z. Press Association) GREYMOUTH, Jan. 24. A 28-year-old Runanga railway employee, Barry John Stoop, was remanded to the Seaview Psychiatric Hospital for four weeks when he appeared before Mr E. S. J. Crutchley, S.M., this afternoon. Stoop was charged with the illegal possession of a firearm and being in charge of a firearm while intoxicated. He was arrested last night after a three-hour search by armed police in Runanga and Dunollie.
