WHEN A CAR travelling out of Christchurch in Lincoln Road swerved to avoid a vehicle which had come from Clarence Street the veranda posts and windows of four shops were broken. The accident occurred soon after midnight on Saturday. One of the verandas crashed on to the footpath, and part of the brick wall of one shop was demolished. The car was not extensively damaged.
