Japan Society Honour
Mr E. B. E. Taylor, a former New Zealand Ambassador to Japan, was made an honorary life member erf the Japan Society of Canterbury at the annual meeting this week.
Mr Taylor also accepted an invitation to be the society’s patron.
The life membership was conferred in recognition of Mr Taylor’s “outstanding services in the interest of promoting closer understanding between the people of New Zealand and Japan.” Officers elected: President, Mr A. Gray; secretary, Mrs D. Petterson; treasurer, Mr R. Graham: committee, Mesdames S. Manaton, R. Britten, K. King, Miss G. Boyd, and Mi G. Stevenson.
