WINNER OF CAR
Woman Takes First Prize
Mrs M. J. Hack, of Wendover Street, has begun the Labour Day week-end in a happy mood. Yesterday at the Bishopdale Shopping Centre she took delivery of a brandnew car.
She won first prize in the 1967 Nestle’s chocolate contest, which attracted about 200,000 entries throughout New Zealand. The car was presented to her by Mr J. R. • Humphries, the Christchurch .’ manager of the company. Mrs Hack has been driving * for about seven years. Yet the furthest south she has driven is Ashburton. One of the requirements in the contest was to say in 25 words where one would spend one’s first holiday in the car. Mrs Hack intends to make the round trip through the Haast Pass. Her husband does not drive.
Mrs Hack said yesterday she was absolutely thrilled , with her win. “I can’t get * over it. It’s quite fantastic.” She said she might sell her little pre-war car so that she could have a car port built for the new car. Mrs Hack’s win is the fourth major prize won in the competition in the Christchurch area in recent years.
