DEER FARM WARNING

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON, July 3.

The Minister of Forests (Mr Maclntyre) today warned would-be deer farmers not to “rush into land purchases” until legislation providing for the farming of deer in captivity had been passed. He said that land purchased now by deerfarmers might not qualify under the conditions to be laid down for the issuing of deer farming permits. Mr Maclntyre stressed that conditions for the issuing of permits had yet to be decided.
