Petrol Tanks At Rotorua
(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, July 2.
The sixth known case of arson in Rotorua since Easter occurred on Saturday morning when a fire was lit in a petrol storage area in the railway yards containing thousands of gallons of petrol.
The fire was under a woodon stand with a rubber hose on it leading to a tank of aviation fuel.
Although the tap was turned off at the tank there was petrol in the hose. The Rotorua Fire Brigade received a call to the fire at 12.43 a.m. and put it out within minutes.
