(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The Hutt recreation ground will be in near perfect condition for the New . Zealand athletics championships, which begin on Friday. Considered to have one of the fastest grass surfaces in the country, the ground was last used for a national championhip meeting almost nine! years ago.

Even if rain falls before the championships begin it is not expected to have any appreciable effect on the track surface.
