Player Dies From Bite

The former Australian and Canadian Rugby Union international, C. Smee, died in Port Moresby, Papua, yesterday, after suffering a snake or spider bite, it has been learned in Sydney. He was 31. Smee was bitten on. Saturday while helping clear a sports field for the coming season, his brother, Ray, said in a telephone call from Port Moresby. It was not clear what bit him. He was given medical treatment, but was found dead yesterday.
