HOUSTON (Texas)

The world heavy-weight champion, Cassius Clay, said yesterday that when he retired from boxing he planned to become a farmer and raise horses, cows, chickens and turkeys.

“I’m planning to buy three farms—in Georgia, Chicago, and Houston,” the 25-year-old fighter said.

Clay began training yesterday for his next title defence against Zora Folley in New York on March 22.

“There ain’t nothing like farming. You ean always eat,” he said.
