On Maiden Voyage

WELLINGTON, February 24. The Union Steam Ship Company's latest trans-Tasman freighter, the Ngapara, arrived in Wellington on its maiden Sydney-Wellington voyage this week. The Ngapara, a sister ship of the Ngahere, was built In Britain last year.
The 4576-ton freighter Is equipped with two 10-ton and four five-ton cranes instead of the conventional winches. It will leave for Sydney by way of Tauranga on Wednesday.
