HIT TWO CARS

Wooden Fence Wrecked

A car travelling east in St. Albans street, just off Papanui road, last evening hit two parked cars, one of which demolished a wooden fence. All three cars were towed away. The driver of the car was not injured. Nobody was in the parked cars. The car hit the first parked car, on the driver’s incorrect side of the road, a glancing blow, causing damage to a mudguard, wheel, and front suspension. The car went over the gutter and along the footpath and hit the second parked car about 100 ft further down the street, square on. The parked car went over the gutter and through a wooden fence at 26 St. Albans street, in reverse.

The accident happened at 8.20 p.m. The driver of the car was taken to the Christchurch Central Police Station for questioning.
