HISTORY OF CHURCH
The centennial history of St Mary's Anglican Church, Merivale, has been written by the Christchurch author, Errol Brathwaite. Called “The House Built Upon a Rock,” it has a striking cover design on this theme, unusual two-column lay-out, and many illustrations. The narrative concentrates on the collective habits of the congregation, rather than individuals, to show the development of the parish, church, buildings, and activities over 100 years.
