An American practice of continuing the education of girls who leave school because, they are pregnant, might be worth considering for New Zealand, Mr A. R. Kerse, supervisor of the cerebral palsy unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Rotorua, said on Saturday. During his recent study tour overseas Mr Kerse saw many educational systems including some outside the cerebral palsy realm, In California, said Mr Kerse, pregnant schoolgirls waiting to give birth and have their children adopted were given the opportunity to continue their studies away from school.
