SKI-ING TO DECIDE
Universities’ Tourney (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. With only the skiing to be decided, Auckland holds a slim five-point lead in the New Zealand Universities winter tour nament. After the fourth day yesterday, Auckland had 56 points, Canterbury 51, Otago and Victoria 32 However. Auckland is likely to be displaced by Canterbury, which is expected to prove superior in the ski ing events at Mt. Ruapehu. Yesterday, Canterbury beat Auckland B. 4-2, to win the men’s hockey section with a goal average of 24 goals for and only three against. Results: Canterbury 4 <A. Scoble, J. Christianson. B Maister and M. Lumsden), Auckland B 2; Australia 4, Auckland A 0; Otago 4, Lincoln 0.
