Auckland May Compete
(N Z Press Association) AUCKLAND. There was no doubt that Auckland would again consider competing with Christchurch for the Commonwealth Games in 1974 if the quality of Auckland sporting venues had improved as much as expected, said the president of the Auckland Amateur All Sports Association, Mr B. C. Simpson, yesterday. Mr Simpson said his association had not had a meeting since the 1970 Commonwealth Games had been allocated to Edinburgh, but he personally felt that Auckland would probably be the best venue for the 1974 games.
