MARKET IN NEW YORK
Wall Street Recovers (N.Z.P.A. -Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, July 27. Stocks advanced over a broad front on Wall Street today as the stock market recovered from two successive days of record lows. A drop in General Motors and U.S. Steel’s earnings was more than offset by encouraging earnings and dividend statements from other companies and late-afternoon pro-fit-taking was easily absorbed. At the close the Dow Jones industrial average was up 4.06 at 856.23. Anxieties over Vietnam, tight money and the British economic crisis which caused the slide of the last two days were relegated to the background on Wall Street think-
ing. Latest Indices Latest Indices are:— New York. —Dow Jones 1965 Rails. Indust.
