My Call Favoured For Feilding Win
“The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON. My Gall and Tipperary 7 Tom are selected for the T.A.B. double on the second day of the Feilding Jockey Club’s meeting today.
My Call was fourth in the Feilding Cup on Saturday. The three which finished ahead are not racing today. Tipperary Tom was fifth in the sprint, and the four ahead of him are also defectors from today’s event. No newcomer in the Goodbehere Memorial Handicap looks any better than My Call. The best should be El Ganador, which was narrowly beaten in a Manawatu welter after being forced to race wide.
The improver from the Feilding Cup should be Acis, which ran a promising fifth. Hardest for Tipperary Tom to beat should be his stablemate, Alkira, which did not get a start in the Feilding Cup because no suitable jockey was available. There was rain in Feilding on Saturday, but the weather was fine yesterday afternoon and the track was in good order.
