Report On “Bather”

The sub-committee set up to approve the final purchase by the Christchurch City Council of the Italian sculpture “Bather.” by Marcello Macherini, has referred its report back to the Parks and recreation committee and its decision will come before the council on March 14. So far there had been no undue delay in making a decision. Cr. P. J. Skellenip said when questioned. Its price is about £2035. The Arts Council has approved a grant of half this sum. ’
