Advances To State Ease
Reserve Bank advances to the State last week fell from £73.4m to £66.6m, and advances to marketing organisations were back £l.2m—to £43.3m. Other advances fell £sm to £5.9m, according to figures released by the Reserve Bank. State deposits with the bank dropped from £lsm to £10.7m. Trading banks’ statutory deposits rose to £s3m (£51.6m). Bank notes in circulation fell back from £97.3m the previous week to £87.3m. Investments in New Zealand were up very slightly at £34.3m, and overseas investments rose from £23.3m to £25.3m.
Overseas exchange holdings were virtually unchanged at £12.5m.
