ERHARD ON WAY HOME

No Decision On Nuclear Say

(N.Z.P A.-Reuter—Copyright)

WASHINGTON, December 22The West German Chancellor (Dr. Ludwig Erhard) flew home today from his talks with President Johnson, without any firm United States commitment on West Germany’s nuclear role in the Western Alliance.

The Chancellor, who came to seek a greater say for Germany in N.A.T.O. nuclear defence, was content with President Johnson’s suggestion that decisions should be postponed, and that the issue should be thoroughly aired in the special committee, formed at last month’s N.A.T.O. ministerial conference.
